Jenny's writing took me right back to Africa, capturing the sensations I remember. From the places that Jenny has already sent me, to places I must go in the future this book certainly piqued the senses and reminds me that Africa is made up of so many places, experiences and colours.
Thanks Jenny for this great read, I'm sure it will encourage travelers, new and old, to visit all these fabulous destinations and experiences.
Enjoyable & fascinating!
I love the format of this book: a virtual trip round Africa through the senses (with an extra chapter for ‘non’sense!) Jenny’s knowledge of African wildlife and her honest and lively storytelling make for a fascinating read. If you have been on safari you’ll probably read this with nostalgia & a desire to return. If you haven’t been then you’ll definitely want to!

What a page turner, fab book.
What a fab book. It is a series of enjoyably digestible short stories and a great insight into Africa. Having travelled to Africa a number of times I can semi relate to the stories, although nothing quite as exciting has happened to me!. But even if you have not then it is a great introduction to a continent where almost anything can and does happen. I have great admiration for Jenny, who is just about the bravest women about. I simply cannot put this book down it is a real page turner.
An original format for personal recollections!
Jenny is a great storyteller and we loved reading this book, many familiar and entertaining elements but in an original format under the banner of the five Senses. Read it and be completely immersed in the wonderful world of the African Bush! We had the pleasure of meeting Jenny at the Destinations Travel Show, she is as delightful as her story telling.

Colourful, descriptive and from the heart
An excellent book for anybody intending to visit southern Africa. The book is an easy to read collection of anecdotes that bring to life the African wilderness from Lions to loos.

A fabulous book which so evoked my wonderful memories of my own trips to stunning Southern Africa. I couldn't put it down and it was a really emotional read. I cant wait to go back to that amazing continent, the smells sights and sounds of Africa are like no where on earth and it is a totally addictive place. Thanks Jenny for bringing back so many happy memories for me.

Jenny's book is a fresh look at Africa as she lives each adventure she has them using, as the title suggests, one of her five senses. It is well written and takes you along on the ride. We are slightly biased on the one section as it is about our life here in Africa with the hippos. The rest though is true blue Jenny, funny, captivating and saying it how it is. I highly recommend it. Only issue I have is as a vegetarian turning Vegan there was one section of the book I did not want to read but only one and the rest was great. If you want to learn about Africa this is the book for you.

If you're looking for a straight-forward read that really brings Africa to life, then this is it! The book is laid out in short chapters, each of which captures tit-bits of the author's experiences, expertise and adventures, beautifully described and really creating a sense (no pun intended) of being there.

Read this book over a couple of days whilst sitting in my garden last summer. It is a fast moving collection of stories and experiences which brings Africa and all that it offers to life using all the senses. Jenny has so many memories from all her travels which she shares beautifully and which highlight the special magic which Africa offers. Having travelled there once, it definitely made me want to go back and see more.
